PovzetekNa slovenski trg dela ter posledično na zaposlene v zadnjih letih vpliva veliko število sprememb, zato se poraja vprašanje, kako povprečen Slovenec zaznava in vodi svojo kariero v neprestano spreminjajočem se svetu. V iskanju odgovora smo v pričujočo raziskavo vključili individualno poklicno identiteto, karierno vodenje, vseživljenjsko karierno orientacijo, karierno prilagodljivost in karierno zakoreninjenost Slovencev. Da bi opisali slovensko delovno silo, percepcijo kariere ter močne in šibke točke, povezane z vodenjem kariere v spremenljivih časih, smo v luči demografskih in drugih kariernih spremenljivk preučili povezanost in soodvisnost konstruktov. Vzorec (N = 271), zbran s spletnim vprašalnikom, so sestavljali posamezniki različnih starosti, spola, delovnega statusa in izobrazbenih profilov. Rezultati so pokazali, da so bili udeleženci v karieri in na delovnem mestu v preteklosti zelo mobilni, trenutno pa so dokaj zakoreninjeni v svojo karierno izbiro in povezani s trenutnim delovnim mestom. Čeprav si sprememb na delovnem mestu in karieri v prihodnosti ne želijo, pričakujejo, da bodo njihove zaposlitvene možnosti ter priložnosti, kot tudi njihovo doživljanje kariere, drugačno - na to se tudi pripravljajo. Razlike v preučenih kariernih konstruktih se kažejo glede na različno pridobljeno stopnjo izobrazbe, starost, delovno dobo, delovni status in zaznane karierne možnosti. Izobrazbeni profil je prav tako pomemben razločevalec. Psihologi zaznavajo in izražajo karierne predstave in povezane konstrukte drugače od ostalih. Močen karierni profil, pripravljen na vodenje kariere in prilagajanje spremembam, predstavljajo posamezniki s pridobljeno višjo izobrazbo, srednjih let, z več leti delovnih izkušenj in samozaposleni, karierno zakoreninjeni ter tisti, ki zaznavajo možnosti kariernih alternativ. Šibkejši karierni profil kažejo udeleženci z nižjo stopnjo izobrazbe, običajno mlajši, nezaposleni ali še vedno šolajoči (vendar delovno aktivni); so plitvejše zakoreninjeni in ne zaznavajo možnosti zamenjav kariere in/ali delovnega mesta.
In recent years, many changes have affected the Slovenian job market and its workforce, hence the question is how the average Slovenian perceives and manages a career in an ever-changing and advancing world. To answer this question the conducted research looked into the constructs of vocational identity, career management, life long career orientation, career adaptability and career entrenchment of Slovenians. The correlation and dependability of the constructs were analysed, taking into account demographic and other career related variables, resulting in a description of the Slovenian workforce, its general perceptions of a career, and its strengths and weaknesses for "managing a career in changing times". Sample (N = 271) obtained through an online questionnaire was well represented by both sexes and consisted of individuals of different ages, work status and education. Results based on the sample revealed that in the past, average Slovenians were quite mobile during their careers; but currently they are entrenched in and strongly connected to their current working place. Even though they do not desire many changes in the future, they expect it to be different and are stating that they are actively preparing themselves for future career growth. Included career constructs and their expressions were different based on obtained education level, age, length of work experience, work status, and perceived limits in alternative career/job choices. It seems that the educational background of an individual plays a significant role, namely the psychologists (as a specific vocational profile) included in the survey seem to perceive and express career perceptions and related constructs differently than others. According to results, individuals with strong career profiles, who are willing to manage and adapt their careers, are those with a higher level of education, are middle aged, have more years of professional experience, are self-employed, are entrenched in their career, and they perceive career alternatives in their environment. The weaker career profile is represented by individuals whose level of education is lower; and they are usually younger, unemployed, or still studying (but working in addition). Their career entrenchment level is lower, and they do not recognise the possibility of changing their current career path or job.
